Jian Wen
Founder
Head Coach
Jian is the founder of Robotfun Academy, dedicated to bringing STEM education to communities. With a PhD in engineering and 15+ years of technical and management experience in global manufacturing and production automation, Jian combines deep industry expertise with agile leadership. He applies this knowledge daily to coach competition teams, fostering skills in innovation, risk management, and teamwork.

Rahim Babali
Classroom Lead Instructor
Rahim is a software developer with years of experience working with Java and modern web technologies. He enjoys introducing students to robotics and coding through hands-on projects that build problem-solving and logical thinking skills. Rahim is passionate about inspiring young learners to explore STEM and develop confidence with technology.

Renan Jewell
Class Lead Instructor
With a master degree from Boston University Autonomous and Systems, Renan is a robotics engineer with hands-on experience in autonomous control and system integration. Renan brings strong skills in Python, C++, mechanical design, and prototyping. Renan is passionate about teaching students ranging from LEGO-based learning for young kids to full autonomous controls for high schoolers.
Haoming An
Class Lead Instructor
Haoming has Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University with a passion for engineering design, robotics, and hands-on STEM education. He has experience using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Python, and MATLAB to design and analyze engineering projects. Haoming developes engaging lessons and adapted instruction to different classes and age groups. He is excited to inspire young engineers by helping students explore robotics, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and build confidence through hands-on projects.

Kim Vanaman
Public Speaking Coach
Kim is the Director of Middle School Speech Teams in Newton and an experienced educator in Public Speaking. She helps our future robotics engineers communicate their ideas more clearly and confidently in team settings and during competition judge interviews.
In her professional career, Kim serves as both a speech coach and a judge. In her classes, she strives to create a comfortable, supportive environment where students can build confidence and develop this essential life skill.
Chaeson Sears II
Class Lead Instructor
Chaeson Sears II is a robotics engineer and educator with a passion for helping students explore STEM through hands-on learning. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. As a Robotics Instructor, he taught K–12 students and coached VEX Robotics teams in design, programming, and competition strategy. He enjoys inspiring students to build, experiment, solve problems, and discover the exciting possibilities of robotics.
