Robotfun Academy provides VEX and LEGO Robotics after-school programs, camps, and robotics competitions for students from 1st to 10th grade. Located near Newton and Wellesley, our mission is to spark a lifelong passion for STEM. We empower students to excel academically while fostering crucial life skills including communication, collaboration, and time management. Robotfun Academy creates a fun and engaging environment where students can learn, create, and innovate with robotics.

If you are passionate about Robotics and also enjoy teaching children, we are here looking for instructors for either afterschool (3:00-6:30pm during the week and 9am-5pm at weekends), or summer camp (Mon to Fri, 9am-4pm, June to Aug). This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, supervising hands-on activities, and fostering a positive learning environment for students of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong interest in robotics, education, and youth development. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' growth while developing your teaching skills in a dynamic after-school setting.

 

As a STEM Instructor your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging robotics and coding lessons aligned with curriculum standards for after-school programs.

  • Foster enthusiasm for STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and collaborative activities.

  • Maintain classroom discipline and implement behavior management strategies to support positive student interactions.

  • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and program coordinators to monitor student progress and address individual needs.

  • Assist in organizing special events, demonstrations, or camps related to robotics and technology education.

  • Support the development of social-emotional skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking among students.

 

Qualifications:

  • You must love working with kids!

  • Bachelor's degree completed or in pursuing in a STEM related field.

  • Have previous experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or similar environment.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.

  • Authorized to work in US.

 

Preferred if you have:

  • Previous experience teaching robotics (FIRST or VEX robotics). Competition experience highly preferred.

  • Experience with OnShape CAD, 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, C++ Programming, USACO, Blocks Coding, Python is a plus
