About the Course

Counselors in Training (CIT) Program The Robotfun Academy Counselors-in-Training (CIT) Program is designed for rising 9th and 10th graders who are ready to take the next step from camper to leader. This CIT program bridges the transition from camper to counselor, providing teens with hands-on leadership experience in a fun and supportive robotics camp environment. CITs work alongside instructors and staff, helping younger classroom students with projects and activities while learning leadership, child development, classroom management, and activity planning through mentorship and classroom shadowing. Along the way, they build confidence, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. CIT 1 (Rising 9/10th Grade) introduces leadership through instructor shadowing, learning camp policies, and supporting classroom activities. CIT 2 (Rising 10/11th Grade) builds on that foundation with greater responsibility, including assisting with instruction, mentoring younger students, and gaining experience as junior leaders. Graduates who demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and a passion for working with children may be eligible to apply for paid Junior Counselor positions at Robotfun Academy when they rise to Grade 11 and 12.
