About the Course

The course is specifically designed for 7 -12 grade middle school and high schools’ students who are interested in AI and its applications with a variety of lectures, coding projects, and testing. ​Throughout the course, students will, * Gain hands-on experience with electrical engineering hardware, wiring, soldering, and parts assembly. * Gain advanced Arduino and Python programming skills. * CAD design software from TinkerCAD (G6-8) to OnShape CAD (G8-12) and 3D printing technology. * Practice leading technologies in AI, CNN training and image processing. * Exposure to the world of AI and take the opportunity to explore your potential in this promising but competition intensive field. ​​ OVERVIEW: * Each student will design 3D modules and assemble them to build up an advanced robot car. * (Intermediate Level) Students will develop holistic programs for robot car control, sensor data collection, and image capture upon Arduino and computer. * (Advanced Level) Every student will learn to implement the functions of objective detections, facial, and character recognitions based on openCV and convolution neural network (CNN). ​​This course will entail: * Both individual and team-oriented work * Hand-on hardware and coding projects PREREQUISITES This course requires students to have an interest in AI and its applications, in addition to basic Python programming skills.
