(G4-8) Sumo Wrestling Robots with LEGO Prime

A sumobot is a small robot designed for competitions that involve two robots pushing each other out of a circular arena, much like sumo wrestling. These robots are autonomous and rely on sensors and programming to navigate and compete. The goal is to push the opponent out of the designated ring.

In this high-energy robotics course, students will design, build, and program their own Sumo Bots using the powerful LEGO Education SPIKE Prime kits. The goal? Create a robot strong and smart enough to push the opponent out of the ring!

Along the way, kids will dive into hands-on learning in engineering, coding, and sensor technology. They'll experiment with gear ratios, motor control, and strategic programming to outsmart and outmaneuver their rivals.

Each session brings new challenges, team collaboration, and friendly robot battles that sharpen critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.

Highlights:

  • Build competitive robots with LEGO SPIKE Prime

  • Learn to code using intuitive drag-and-drop software

  • Explore real-world applications of sensors and motors

  • Test strategies in exciting sumo-style robot tournaments
